Aren’t they sponsored by the grad school? I have heard that , in science, students get paid for studying. So, why do students pick up a student loan?

Some graduate Science schools do offer stipends to students.
More common is the so-called “rupee whore” USA school which will take all the Indian students it can get, by the planeload, so long as they pay full tuition. Since university studies in the USA are extremely expensive, such students need to take out student loans.

I am overwhelmed from my two nursing degrees. I do not make enough to pay my monthly amount.
I am under the impression you CANNOT file bankruptcy on private loans. My only option is to consolidate. How do I find the best company to consolidate my loans?

Your options are pretty limited. You can call Wells Fargo and perhaps Sallie Mae.. all the other private lenders out there are not doing them. You must understand you are going to need to have a cosigner with awesome credit to get it approved.

I am currently living in indiana and i am wanting to go to Wyotech in Laramie Wyoming. I am going to get financial aid to pay for it along side of my G.I. Bill that i have left. So here is my question.
I am practiacly broke except for unemployment from being laid of by Phizer due to the failure of Exubera so i was wondering if there was a way i could get the money to move from an outside source. such as a student loan (horrible credit btw) or something else like veterans assistance. My unemployment is going to run out in the middle of june and i hope to be moved and in school by the july start date.

Try www.prosper.com…a neat site & lots of different groups offering personal loans, no banks!
Your apr will depend on your credit rating but there are groups on there that loan to students only.

Loans for students help the student to deal with all the expenses that are to be incurred during his education phase like it includes entire cost of the student’s education from tuition fees, accommodation, books, and computers to transportation and many more.

I know this topic has been beaten to death, but I can’t really find the best answer. I have about $ 65K in private student loans from Sallie Mae. I am looking to consolidate them in a fixed rate. I am getting concerned that rates will soon be on the rise and into double digits to curb the coming inflation. My credit score is around 780. I do not own a home so I can not use a home equity line to pay them off. Any suggestions or does anyone know of a bank or other financial institution that offers fixed consolidation?
